A Letter to My Daughters

The dream of becoming a woman
Lies in the heart of every little girl.
She hopes for the day
When before her groom she stands.
Until then, look up little girl.

The dream of holding her child
Lies in the heart of every little girl.
She hopes for the day
When the months to grow this little one
Become sight in her arms, so dear.
Until then, look up little girl.

The dream of changing the world
Lies in the heart of every little girl.
She hopes for the day
When others are changed
By the gift our Lord graciously bestowed upon her.
Until then, look up little girl.

The dream of one day seeing her Lord
Lies in the heart of every little girl.
She hopes for the day
When after yet a little while
Her faith is made sight
And before her Savior she stands complete.
Until then, look up little girl.

The dream of being satisfied and whole
Lies in the heart of every little girl.
She desperately yearns and longs throughout her life
As she hopes her faith will carry her through
To make her one with Christ.
Until then, look up little girl.

The dream of redemption
Lies in the heart of every little girl.
She hopes in the Savior’s love
Through pain and suffering of life
And makes Him her greatest joy.
Until then, look up little girl.

Look up, little girl.
Do not fix your eyes on the hills.
For your help comes from the Lord,
The maker of Heaven and of earth.
All these dreams He delicately placed
In your heart to cry to Him.
Look to the Heavens.
Watch, wait, dream.
