What Great Mysteries

mysterious

The more growth that takes place in the garden of my heart towards the things of Heaven and not of earth, I am routinely met with more mysteries that I do not understand. Sanctification, the process of becoming more whole as Christ is whole (Matthew 5:48), is one of those mysteries. God’s purifying our love for Him and others through hoping in Jesus Christ (1 John 3:2-3) is right in tow after that. Then comes our being reminded by the Holy Spirit that when we gaze upon His personhood we are changed from one degree of glory to another… See what I’m saying… mysteries. Limitless mysteries… It will take all of eternity to search out these mysteries. And I can’t wait to be with Him face to face, no longer questioning or wondering about these mysteries, but He will be fully known to me as I am fully known by Him (1 Corinthians 13:12). These things will not be understood and made known to me simply because I receive the inheritance of BEING in Heaven. No… My hope does not lie ONLY in the fact that I will be IN heaven one day. NO… My hope lies in seeing my faith, the Author and Perfecter of that faith, made SIGHT when my gaze is transfixed to the One who spoke the world into existence and formed it out of nothing (Hebrews 11:3), so that one day I would know how to explain this faith He authored, “Now faith is the assurance of things that are hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). My hope lies in seeing this God, with all His limitless mysteries, even though it all cannot be fully seen, but only dimly through His expressing Himself in the created world through nature, His people, and most importantly the person of Jesus Christ. I cannot wait to see Him as He is (1 John 3:2b)… His glory, His perfection, His beauty, His awesomeness, His power, cannot fully be seen yet… I would burn right up… or faint like Ezekiel kept doing when He beheld JUST the heavenly cherubim that God created for His glory (Ezekiel 2:1-2). Such magnificence is too much for me right now…
