In the Bosom

August 15, 2016

Your compassion was felt
As You knelt
Beside the lifeless ones You created.
You stretched out Your hands to touch
Though others thought it not much,
But for the lifeless it brought everything.
All that had been searched for,
All that had been wanted,
Was met in a single embrace.
Even Your beloved, John
Laid on Your chest
As he heard Your heartbeat he could rest.
This heavenly affection was made
So real to all those who stayed
To watch all that had been given.
And now we do the same
We hold, we touch, and we embrace
From the toes to the face
As we live and love out the humanity of Christ.
A call for the people to hold and be held.
